Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1.5 to 2 pounds ground turkey Use lean ground turkey for a lighter loaf.
  • 3/4 to 1 cup breadcrumbs Use plain or seasoned breadcrumbs.
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped Alternatively, 1 tablespoon dried parsley.
  • 1/3 cup ketchup Plus extra for the glaze.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning Or swap for smoked paprika and ground cumin for a different flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a standard loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easier cleanup.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, beaten eggs, diced onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix until everything is evenly distributed but avoid overworking the meat.
  3. Transfer the mixture into the prepared loaf pan and press it gently into a uniform loaf shape.
  4. Spread a thin layer of ketchup over the top for a glossy glaze.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes, or until an instant-read thermometer reads 165°F (74°C).
  2. Remove from the oven and let the loaf rest for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing.
