  • 1 pound Ground beef or sausage Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 1 cup Chopped onion
  • 1 can Cream of mushroom soup Can be replaced with homemade sauce.
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 bag Frozen tater tots Use fresh for maximum crispiness.
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese Can use other cheese types as variations.
  • to taste teaspoon Salt
  • to taste teaspoon Pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef and onion over medium heat until browned; drain the fat.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cooked meat with cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread the mixture in a greased casserole dish.
  5. Top with a layer of tater tots.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes until tater tots are golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
