- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
- Cream the softened butter with the granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and molasses until well combined.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the lined baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are firm but centers remain soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
