Ingredients
  

For the filling
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Garlic powder, to taste
For assembling
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or American cheese Can substitute with pepper jack cheese for a spicy kick
Optional toppings

  • burger sauce (or ketchup and mayo mix) Optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  2. Divide the beef into small handfuls and place each handful onto one half of a tortilla, pressing it flat with a spatula.
  3. Season the beef generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Cooking
  1. Place the tortilla beef-side down on the hot skillet. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes without moving it.
  2. Flip the tortilla so the beef side is facing up, sprinkle cheese over the cooked meat, then fold the tortilla in half.
  3. Press gently and cook for another 1 to 2 minutes per side until both sides are golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
  4. Transfer to a cutting board, slice into wedges, and serve with optional toppings.

Notes
