Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together the mashed bananas, sour cream, melted butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually incorporate the dry mixture into the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- If desired, fold in the chopped walnuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing out the top.
Baking
- Place in the oven and bake for about 60-70 minutes.
- To test for doneness, insert a toothpick into the center; if it comes out clean, your banana bread is ready!
- Let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
