  • 1 pound ground beef Lean ground beef recommended
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Use low-sodium if preferred
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang Korean chili paste
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cups cooked rice White or brown rice
  • 2 stalks green onions, chopped For garnish

Method
 

Cooking
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks to ensure even browning.
  2. Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, gochujang, and sesame oil. Mix well.
  5. Continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring until the mixture thickens slightly.
  6. Serve the beef mixture over cooked rice and garnish with chopped green onions.
