  • 0.5 tsp ½ tsp kosher salt
  • 0.5 tsp ½ tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp 3 tbsp butter
  • 4-6 cloves 4-6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.5 cup ½ cup honey Can substitute for maple syrup.
  • 3 tbsp 3 tbsp soy sauce Use alternatives for gluten-free.
  • 2 tbsp 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 tsp ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your broiler and adjust the oven rack to the middle position.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry using paper towels. Season all sides generously with salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika.
Cooking
  1. In a large, oven-safe skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add in the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Stir in the honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and the optional red pepper flakes. Allow the mixture to heat through for 30 to 60 seconds, stirring occasionally.
  3. Carefully place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin-side down. Cook them without moving for about 3 minutes, basting generously with the sauce.
  4. Transfer the skillet to the preheated broiler. Broil for 5 to 6 minutes, basting once more until the salmon is beautifully caramelized and flakes easily with a fork.
  5. Remove the skillet from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley, and drizzle any extra glaze over the top before serving!
