- In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and molasses until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mix, stirring gently until just combined.
Baking
- Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Flatten each cookie slightly and bake for about 8-10 minutes, until the edges are set but centers still look soft.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

- If desired, decorate with icing.
