Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 2 lbs sirloin steak, trimmed and cut into bite-sized cubes Trim visible fat for cleaner bites.
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce Substitute regular soy sauce if needed.
  • 1/4 cup beef broth Chicken broth can be used in a pinch.
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (about 1 tbsp)
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional, adds depth)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter, cut into small pieces
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. Pat the steak cubes dry with paper towels so the marinade sticks.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper until combined.
  3. Place the steak cubes in the crockpot in an even layer. Pour the marinade over the meat and toss gently to coat every piece.
  4. Scatter the butter pieces on top so they melt into the sauce as it cooks.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours, or on high for 2–3 hours, until the meat is tender and the sauce is flavorful.
  2. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning with a little extra pepper or a pinch of salt if needed.
  3. If the sauce is too thin, remove the lid and cook on high for 10–15 minutes to reduce.
  4. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve over your chosen side.
