Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour Make sure it is measured accurately.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure butter is soft but not melted.
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
For Rolling
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar For rolling the cookie dough balls.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract, egg, and salt.
  5. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until everything is combined.
Baking
  1. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and roll the balls in the granulated sugar.
  2. Place the cookies onto ungreased cookie sheets, leaving about 2 inches between them.
  3. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly golden.
  4. Let the cookies cool on wire racks before enjoying.

Notes
