  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar Can substitute with honey or maple syrup.
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with whole wheat flour.
  • 1/2 cup nuts or chocolate chips Optional add-ins.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Mix in the melted butter with the mashed bananas until fully combined.
  4. Sprinkle in the baking soda and a pinch of salt, stirring to mix.
  5. Add the sugar and beaten egg, followed by the vanilla extract; stir until just combined.
  6. Gradually fold in the flour, being careful not to over-mix. Add nuts or chocolate chips if desired.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Baking
  1. Bake for 60-65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow it to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
