Ingredients

  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour Spoon flour into the cup and level off
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 0.75 cups unsalted butter, softened Use room temperature for even mixing
  • 0.75 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs Use room temperature
Mix-ins
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Feel free to substitute with dark or milk chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with the granulated and brown sugars and vanilla until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Drop rounded spoonfuls or use a cookie scoop to place dough balls two inches apart on lined sheets.
  2. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are light golden and centers look slightly underbaked.
  3. Let cookies rest on the baking sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
