Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with the granulated and brown sugars and vanilla until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
- Drop rounded spoonfuls or use a cookie scoop to place dough balls two inches apart on lined sheets.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are light golden and centers look slightly underbaked.
- Let cookies rest on the baking sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
