Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until smooth. Stir in the molasses, egg, and vanilla until well combined.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until a dough forms.
- Roll the dough into small balls and roll each ball in sugar. Place them on the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are firm. Let them cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
