  • 1 lb ground beef Use lean ground beef for less grease.
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup diced bell pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth Low-sodium recommended.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
For the biscuit topping
  • 1 cup Cheddar Bay biscuit mix Provides savory flavor and texture.
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg For mixing with the biscuit dough.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Can substitute with other cheeses.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef, diced onion, and diced bell pepper over medium heat until the beef is browned and the vegetables are tender. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the beef broth, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 2-3 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the Cheddar Bay biscuit mix, milk, and egg until combined.
  5. Pour the beef mixture into a greased baking dish and top with dollops of the biscuit mixture.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown and bubbly, about 20 minutes.
