Main ingredients
  • 2 pounds beef chuck, cut into 1-inch pieces Choose good quality beef for better taste.
  • 4 pieces carrots, sliced
  • 3 pieces potatoes, diced
  • 1 piece onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 piece bay leaf Do not skip, it adds great flavor.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a slow cooker, combine beef, carrots, potatoes, onion, and garlic.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together beef broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and bay leaf.
  3. Pour the mixture over the beef and vegetables.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours, until the meat is tender.
  2. Remove bay leaf before serving.

Notes
