  • 1.5 cups brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups diced apples (tart variety like Granny Smith)
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the melted butter and brown sugar until combined.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
  6. Fold in the diced apples and chopped pecans.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
