- In a large bowl, gently mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, diced onion, salt, and pepper. Form into 6–8 oval-shaped patties and let them rest.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cooking
- Brown patties in an oven-safe skillet for 3–4 minutes per side until golden; remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté sliced onions in butter until softened.
- Add flour, stir for 2 minutes, then whisk in broth and cream until smooth.
- Nestle browned patties into the gravy and cover tightly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
