For the Glaze
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (use low sodium if preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon honey (or maple syrup)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, melted butter, honey, garlic powder, black pepper, and paprika until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Arrange the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet, skin side down if applicable. Brush each fillet generously with half of the glaze.
Baking
  1. Place the salmon in the preheated oven and bake for 8 minutes.
  2. Remove the salmon from the oven, brush the fillets with the remaining glaze, and put them back in. Continue baking for another 8 to 10 minutes until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.
  3. Take the salmon out, let it rest for about 2 minutes, sprinkle it with chopped parsley, and serve immediately.
